Preview: The S-4 Facility

According to Lazar, S-4 was a highly compartmentalized facility built into the side of Papoose Mountain, south of Area 51's main complex. He described it as containing nine hangar bays, each housing a different recovered craft. Access was controlled through layers of security that exceeded anything at the main Groom Lake installation.

"The hangars were built into the mountain at an angle. From the outside, you wouldn't know they were there. Each one had its own craft, and they were in various states of being worked on."

Lazar claimed he was brought in specifically to work on the propulsion system of one craft — what he called the "sport model" due to its smooth, disc-like profile. His access was limited to his specific project, and he was given briefing documents that described the extraterrestrial origin of the craft.
